11-Aug-2014 We faced a serious dilema mounting the cab roof to the cab. 1) We did not have any cab roof prints to help us design brackets to mount the roof, and 2) the cab was installed on the locomotive which is upstairs in the travel trailer and very hard to get to.
We decided to use 1/4" square stock riveted to the roof and bolted to the cab, one piece in the front and the other in the back to anchor the roof. I put some strain on the old hand-cranked roller and roll two pieces of stock until they match the roof profile. I used the cab front to check the profile of the curve. This cab piece was scrapped earlier in the build, but came in very handy now!
